WILMA KEMPERS, 70, of Sioux Center, IA died Friday, February 22, 2008 at Sheldon Sanford Senior Care.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2pm in the Chapel of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Interment will be held prior to the memorial service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 1:15pm in the Chapel of First Reformed Church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from noon to 1:15pm at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center.

In lieu of flowers the Kempers Family prefers memorials to your favorite charity.

Wilma June Kempers was born June 28, 1937 a mile east of Sioux Center, Iowa to James and Dora (Ter Haar) Kempers. Wilma and her two sisters attended Sioux Center Elementary School and went on to graduate from Sioux Center High School. While growing up Wilma studied music. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, and played the trumpet in band while in high school.

As a young woman Wilma began working In Sioux Center. She eventually took a position with the First National Bank, where she worked for nearly 40 years until her retirement in 1999.

Throughout her lifetime Wilma was an active member of First Reformed Church in Sioux Center where she was a member of Rebecca Circle.

Wilma is survived by her sister, Berdena Kempers of Sioux Center along with several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dora Kempers and her sister, Johanna Kempers.
