Warren Marra, age 80 of Sioux Center, IA died June 27, 2017 at his residence in Sioux Center.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1st at the First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA, with Reverend Carl Klompien officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 1st at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and process to Memory Garden Cemetery in Sioux Center for the burial prior to the service.
Memorials may be directed to: Sioux Center Christian School and/or Western Christian High School.
Warren Charles Marra was born in Hull, IA on July 15, 1936 to Wilmar & Evelyn (Kroese) Marra. He attended Hull Christian School, Western Christian High School and Dordt College. He worked for Van Engen Meats in Hull for 2 years before working as a salesman for Quality Home Sales in Sioux Center starting in 1957. He married Diane Duistermars on June 12, 1958 in Sioux Center, IA where they made their home for 59 years and raised 5 sons. In 1973, Warren and Diane bought QHS and sold mobile and modular homes, motor homes and RVs until they sold the business in 2016. While owning QHS they enjoyed many sales award trips all over the world. He was also a past president of the Jaycees and Lions Club, and was on the President’s Council of Bonnavilla Homes, division of Chief Industries. Warren and Diane attended 1st CRC in Sioux Center where Warren served as Deacon and Elder over the years. Warren loved to hunt, fish, golf, and watch the MN Twins. In his younger days he was an avid bowler and won many bowling tournaments. His greatest love was his family and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Warren was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November of 2012 and went through 127 chemo treatments before stopping in January of 2017.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Diane Marra of Sioux Center, IA; five sons, Kevin & Winn of Sioux Center and children Hillary (Andrew) Libke of Clovis, CA and Jeff (Reba) Marra of Ireton, IA, Kent & Cindy and children Alexa, Jessa (Alan) Van der Woerd and Chase all of Colorado Springs, CO, Kalen & Lois of Blaine, MN and children Nick of Minneapolis, MN and Hanna of Silver Spring, MD, Kris & Gwen and children Kristopher (KC), Maddie, Dustin and Jordyn all of Sioux Center, Keith & Brittany (baby Marra due in December) of Blaine, MN; Warren’s twin brother, Wayne of Orange City, IA; Diane’s sister, Donna (Gerald) Bouma of Fergus Falls, MN; and many other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Thane and wife Bette, his brother Gene, his brother Wayne’s wife Adrianna, and nephews Mark Marra and Dennis Marra, as well as Diane’s parents Elmer (Dusty) & Luella Duistermars.
The family has peace knowing that Warren has gone to be with his Savior and Lord.
