Terry Nibbelink, 62, of rural Orange City, IA died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. A visitation with the family present will be held on Sunday from 1-4PM, at the Carmel Reformed Church of rural Rock Valley. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:30AM at the Carmel Reformed Church with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in Carmel Cemetery of rural Rock Valley. In lieu of flowers or gift items, the Nibbelink family prefer memorial contributions to Words Of Hope or Carmel Reformed Church Multi-Purpose Building Project fund. Terry was born October 26, 1951 in Sioux Center, Iowa to Henry and Dorothy (Smits) Nibbelink. He attended Sioux Center Christian School and Unity Christian High School. Terry joined the Air National Guard for eight years and Army National Guard for one year. He married Melinda Van Voorst on August 6, 1988. They made their home on a farm northeast of Orange City, Iowa. Terry grew up on a dairy farm near Sioux Center. He worked at several jobs before working at Siouxland Harvestore for nine years. He then owned several businesses, all dealing in feeding systems for farmers and elevators. He also farmed and had livestock. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed farming, traveling and fishing. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and going to their activities. Terry had a great sense of humor, and was known for his one-liners. He was a shining example for perseverance under trial. Terry was a faithful member of Carmel Reformed Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and superintendent. Terry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Melinda of Orange City; five children: Jody and Denene Nibbelink of Orange City, Keri Jo and Dave Frick of Boyden, Becky and Eric Ochsendorf of Matlock, Adam Nibbelink and his fiancé, Sarah Rygaard of Orange City and Caleb Nibbelink of Orange City; his eight grandchildren: Brandon, Alex, Andrew and Brady Frick, Sydnee Olson, Abygale and Kolby Nibbelink and Micah Ochsendorf. Terry is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Nibbelink of Sioux Center; brother, Kevin (fiancé Deb) Nibbelink of Sioux Center; sister and brother-in-law, Barb and Gary Hibma of Sheldon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Carol Van Voorst of Hull; brothers-in-law and sister-in-laws: Rich and Minerva Kooiker of Middleburg, Marlin and Paula Van Voorst, Mark and Kristi Van Voorst and Tom and Misty Zwart all of Hull as well as several nieces and nephews. Terry is preceded in death by his father, Henry Nibbelink; an infant brother, Michael and an infant sister, Rachel; a sister-in-law, Valerie Nibbelink and an infant brother-in-law, Chad Van Voorst.
