Terry De Weerd, 43, of Sioux Center, IA died Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at the Orange City Health System Hospital. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8PM, with the family present from 5-7PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30AM at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Tanner Smith officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. The De Weerd Family prefers memorials be directed to First Reformed Church of Sioux Center or Orange City Area Home Health & Hospice. Terry Lynn De Weerd was born to Wayne and Delma (Van Marel) De Weerd on July 22, 1969, in Le Mars, Iowa. He was raised in the Sioux Center area and graduated from Sioux Center Community High School. After graduating he worked with his parents on the family farm. Over the years, Terry attended a few classes at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon. Terry was a happy go lucky person who loved to be a friend to all he knew. One of his favorite pastimes was attending auctions and sales where he would visit with most anyone he met. He also enjoyed being a member of Two Cylinder Clubs, the Granite Club and the Pioneer Club in LeMars. He is survived by his parents, Wayne and Delma De Weerd of Sioux Center; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Don and Deb De Weerd of Hull and their children: Devin and Kayla; Evan and Sue De Weerd of Orange City and their children: Ryan and Katie; Jeff and Carmen De Weerd of Sioux Center and their daughter, Jordan. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jake and Johanna Van Marel and Albert and Rose De Weerd.
