Betty Vander Schaaf Service Livestream
Betty Vander Schaaf age 87 of Sioux Center, Iowa died Friday, January 15, 2021 at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center.
A private family funeral service will be Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center with Reverend Mark Vande Zande, officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19th from 10:00 to 12:30 without family present at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
Betty Mae Vander Schaaf was born September 28, 1933 to Cornelius and Jennie (TenHarmsel) Vugteveen on a farm near Perkins, Iowa. She grew up there and received her education from the Hull Christian School. On January 29, 1954 Betty was united in marriage to James Vander Schaaf at First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley, Iowa. They made their home on a farm near Ireton until 1969. They moved and farmed near Middleburg until 2012. They were blessed with 3 children. In 2012, Betty moved to Sioux Center and moved into Royale Meadows Care Center in 2017.
She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, where she was a part of the Faith, Hope, and Love group for many years. In the past Betty sold home health care products, helping many people through the years. She really enjoyed gardening, going for walks, traveling and most of all loved her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a caring, hard worker.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Carla (Harold) Dykstra of Orange City, IA, Howard (Pam) Vander Schaaf of Alton, IA; daughter-in- law, Gail (Langstraat) Arlan Van Grouw of Orange City, IA; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Rebecca (Dykstra) Jacobson of Rock Valley and her children, Kendra (Tim) Van Tilburg, Jillian and Gaven Dykstra; Joe (Jill) Dykstra of Lennox, SD their child Lane, and his children, Mason and Abby; Nick (Marion) Dykstra of Coralville, IA and their children, Henry and Margot; Joshua (Kayla Forseth) Vander Schaaf of Hanford, CA and their children, Kyler Vander Schaaf; Justin (Angela) Vander Schaaf of Alton, IA; Jordan (Marianna Jensen) Vander Schaaf of LeMars, Iowa; siblings, Marlene Vugteveen, Joyce Vugteveen and Annetta Vander Lugt, all of Grand Rapids, MI, Harold Vugteveen of Spirit Lake, IA; along with many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Jennie; husband, James; son, Brian; brothers-in-law, Joe Vugteveen, Al Vander Lugt; and sister-in-law, Mary Vugteveen.
