Duane Sitzmann, age 62 of Sioux Center, Iowa died Thursday, June 4, 2026 in Sioux Center.
A funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM, Monday June 8, 2026 at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Christ’s Hands in Sioux Center.
Duane Joseph Sitzmann was born February 15, 1964, in LeMars, Iowa, the son of Gerald and Dolores (Kommes) Sitzmann. He grew up in rural Hinton with his four brothers and a sister. He graduated from Gehlen Catholic High School in 1982. Following high school, he attended Western Iowa Tech.
On June 10, 1989, Duane was united in marriage to Kaye Kraayenbrink in Sioux Center, Iowa. After marriage, they lived on an acreage for a few years before moving to Sioux Center. They were blessed with 2 daughters.
In the past, Duane worked at Schroeder Farms, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. After that, he worked at Service Trucks International for over 25 years. He was a member of the Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center. He loved all things outdoors, whether it was his annual fishing trip with his brothers, hunting, hiking, skiing, boating, and farming.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kaye; daughters, Haley (Ross) Rozeboom of Sioux Falls, SD and Mandy Sitzmann of Belgrade, MT; grandson, Ryker Rozeboom; brothers, Ray (Shelly) Sitzmann of LeMars, IA, and Blaine (Wendi) Sitzmann of Clermont, FL; sister, Brenda (Brian) Kolbeck of LeMars, IA; mother-in-law, Marilyn Kraayenbrink of Sioux Center; brothers-in-law, Dale (Brenda) Kraayenbrink and Evan (Rachelle) Kraayenbrink, of Sioux Center, IA; along with many extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Dolores; stillborn son, Blake Joseph; brothers, Joe Sitzmann and John Sitzmann; and father-in-law, Henrich Kraayenbrink.
