Earl W. Cuperus

September 1, 1943 — February 11, 2024

HULL, IA

Earl Wayne Cuperus was born on September 1, 1943, to Louis and Jeanette (Dykstra) Cuperus.  He was raised in Hull, Iowa where he attended Hull Christian grade school and graduated from Western Christian High School.

Earl loved God’s earth and spent over 60 years pushing it around with his heavy equipment at Cuperus Construction Company.

On September 4, 1964, Earl was joined in marriage to Marge Riepma in Ireton, Iowa.  The couple made their home in Hull.

Earl was a child of God who was always thrilled to serve God’s will working at YA-TEC,  and Cursillo.  He enjoyed witnessing through prison ministry at the M2 Program and met many special friends throughout his lifetime, including  Eric Guetter.  Earl enjoyed going to Christian music festivals such as Sonshine in Willmar, Minnesota,  Lifelight in Worthing, South Dakota and going to Risefest with grandson, Austin, in Sheldon, Iowa.

Wheels were Earl’s favorite hobby, especially fast-paced cars of Nascar and drag racing. He liked to share this hobby with his grandchildren as much as possible.  He enjoyed vacations to God’s glorious mountains with family.

Earl is survived by his wife, Marge Cuperus of Hull; two sons and daughters-in-law: Lynn (Lynn) Cuperus of Hull, Chris (Bonnie) Cuperus of Sioux Center; daughter and son-in-law, Kim (Bernie) Wynia of Sioux Center; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters: Betty Techen, Vel (Jim) Keizer, Lavonne (Walt) Den Hoed all of Hull; his nieces and nephews and special friends Lee & Dee Bomgaars.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jeanette; in-laws, Ted and Jo Riepma; brother-in-law, Ron Techen, granddaughter, Kyla Cuperus and great-granddaughter, Angel Wynia. Blessed be the memory of Earl W. Cuperus.
