Ezra Kraayenbrink

Ezra Kraayenbrink, age 6, passed away Monday May 4, 2026 at M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A funeral service will be 10:30AM, Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa with Pastor John Lee, officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00, Monday May 11th at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center. Memorials may be directed to Ronald McDonald Charities-Upper Midwest, Angel Flight Central, Katelyn's Fund Orphan Ministry.

Ezra Duane Kraayenbrink, six-year-old son of Josiah and Briana (Koedam) Kraayenbrink of Sioux Center, passed away May 4, 2026 at the M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. 

Ezra was born in Lakeland, Florida on April 22, 2020. Briana and Josiah met Ezra when he was a month old and he was officially welcomed into their family on January 20, 2021. Ezra was born with a rare condition called Fanconi Anemia. A large portion of his life was spent in various hospitals, and he made an impact on the lives of countless people. 

The love of God was shown through Ezra's contagious smile and the many hugs he was eager to give. Ezra loved being outdoors swinging and watching cars go past his home. He loved going for car rides and laughed every time he went over the railroad tracks. He enjoyed riding the school bus and was a TK student at Kinsey Elementary school. 

Ezra is survived by his parents and a brother Owen; his grandparents: Brian & Carla Koedam and Evan & Rachalle Kraayenbrink; his great-grandma Marilyn Kraayenbrink. His aunts and uncles: Becca & Jeff Kroese, Anna & Nick Keith, Sarah & Dylan Van Gelder, Olivia Kraayenbrink , Josh & Jess Koedam and Jessica Koedam. 

He is also survived by his cousins: Easton, Raelle, Hunter & Brighton Kroese; Zephen, Lyza & Zoey Keith; Trevon & Rocklyn Van Gelder and Rosie and Emily Koedam.
