Gerald De Bey of Sioux Center, Iowa died Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center with Rev. Van Rathbun officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.
A time of visitation will take place Wednesday morning at the church from 9:30 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM.
Masks and social distancing is suggested.
In lieu of flowers, family prefer memorials which will be directed to the New Life Treatment Center.
Gerald Dean DeBey was born July 3, 1951 in Orange City, IA to Raymond and Dena (Wolfswinkel) DeBey. He was raised on a farm between Hull and Sioux Center and attended country school, eventually graduating from Sioux Center High School.
He was drafted into the United States Army and was active duty from 1971 to 1973 and continued in the Reserves until 1977. He was honorably discharged. His time in the military was very important to Gerald. He was a very patriotic man.
On July 11, 1976 he was united in marriage to Jean (Mulder). To this union two children were born, Briana and Whitney.
Family was very important to Gerald. He enjoyed his time with them very much. He also enjoyed woodworking, watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins, and taking care of his fish tanks.
Gerald was an electrician by trade. He worked for Ten Kredit Electric before starting his own business, DeBey Electric.
Gerald is survived by his daughter, Whitney DeBey of Tiffin, IA; son-in-law, Erick Erickson of (Rock Rapids, IA) and his sons, Alex, Kael and Oliver Erickson; sisters, Betty Vande Griend (Dave) of Hull, IA and Janice Nyhuis of Sioux Center, IA; brothers, Roger (Lisa) DeBey of Rock Rapids, IA and Darrell (Crystal) DeBey of Buffalo, NY; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dena DeBey; daughter, Briana Erickson and brother-in-law, Robert Nyhuis.
