Greeta J Kruid

Greeta J. Kruid, age 86, of Sioux Center, Iowa passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Crown Point Estates Care Center in Sioux Center, Iowa.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 30th, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center, IA, with Rev. Robert Drenten officiating. Interment will follow the service in Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton, IA.

There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to be directed to Hope Haven in Rock Valley and or Lebanon Christian Reformed Church.

Greeta Jane Hofland was born November 21, 1938, to Joe Cornelius. and Cynthia (Mars) Hofland in Sanborn, IA. She was raised on a family farm near Alton, IA and attended country school. She graduated from New Kirk High School.

She was united in marriage to Adrian Henry Kruid on August 28, 1958, at Orange City, IA. The couple farmed near Lebanon, IA until retirement in 2000. At that time, they moved to a home in Sioux Center, IA.

She was a member of the Lebanon Christian Reformed Church, active with several activities. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, needle work and loved to read.

Greeta's husband, Adrian, passed away July 4th, 2022. She remained in her home until September of 2023, when she moved to Crown Point Care Center, where she remained until she went to her eternal home on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

She is survived by her son, Daryl Lee Kruid of Hull, IA; a sister, Linda Hofland Bouwman of Pella, IA; in-laws, Elmer Kruid of Ireton, IA, Elaine Hofland of Orange City, IA, Esther Willies of Georgia; Geneva Janssen of Kansas, Cyntia Kruid, Gert Kruid and Linda Kruid Bockleman; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Cornelius and Cynthia Hofland; infant daughter, Audrey Jean; a sister, Beth Kayleen Hofland; three brothers, James, Joel and Lee Hofland; in-laws, James Kruid Jr., Evelyn Kamstra, Melvin Kruid, Geraldine Kruid, Arlene & Ted Driesen, Gretta & Rich Huenink and Gerrit J. Kruid; three infant Kruid siblings, Donna Mae, Marcella Jane, and Lester Duane; sisters-in-law: Hermina & Charles Vande Kamp and Ella Marie & Mitch Regnerus.
