Harold Vander Stoep, age 82, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Friday, February 13, 2026 at his Sioux Center Residence.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 5-7 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
A prayer service will be held at 9:30 on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center. Burial will follow the prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

A memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the United Reformed Church in Sioux Center with Reverend Jon Bushnell officiating.
The family would like to request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the United Reformed Church Building Fund.
Harold Vander Stoep Tribute Video
Harold Vander Stoep was born on November 21, 1943, to Floris and Gertrude (Mulder) Vander Stoep. He was raised on farms by McNally and Orange City. He graduated from Orange City Christian School. He then went to work for various farmers. 1966, he started working for Russel’s Ready Mix. His brother Clarence also worked there and trained Harold to operate a bulldozer specializing in terraces. They both later worked for Joe’s Ready Mix until 1989, when Harold started his own business, Vander Stoep Excavating. Clarence later came to work with him. They were well respected for their quality work.
Harold was a member of the Orange City Christian Reformed Church, Sioux Center Christian Reformed Church and a charter member of the Sioux Center United Reformed Church.
Harold married Bernice Dorhout (who he met on a blind date) on June 4, 1963. They were lifelong residents of Sioux County.
Harold enjoyed spending time with family and the blessing of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He found great joy in working on old cars and cars in general. He loved his work and found great joy and peace in playing with the dogs. He lived a life of faith in his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his wife Bernice, two sons: Stewart & Cindy (Ver Steeg), Kevin & Angela (Te Grotenhuis), two daughters: Susan & Craig Van Otterloo, Kim & Junior Hoogland, 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, a sister, Gert Kooi, and a brother, Edwin Vander Stoep.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floris & Gertrude Vander Stoep, four brothers: Andrew, Dick, Herb, and Clarence and sister, Sadie Ver Hoeven.
