Marcine Schiebout, 86, of Sioux Center passed away peacefully with her husband Harold at her side on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, August 27th at Memorial Funeral Home.

A memorial service will take place at 10:30 AM, Friday August 28, 2026, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, with Pastor John Lee, officiating. A prayer service for family and friends will be at 9:30 AM Friday, at the church with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Marcine Schiebout was born in Orange City on November 20, 1939, daughter of Wilbert and Alice (Van Berkum) Prins. She grew up on a farm North of Orange City. She went to a country school, grades 1 and 2, and finished grade school and high school at Orange City Public. She continued her education at Ellis School of Cosmetology in Sioux City. Following graduation, she worked at Pin-up Beauty Salon in Sheldon for 1 year. In 1959, she bought Dee’s Beauty Salon in downtown Sioux Center, and established Marcine’s Kut N’ Kurl. After a year, she relocated the salon business into their home, and later their new home, with a separate entrance and a room from which she operated for the next 60 years. In addition, for many years she also did hair in both the Hospital Nursing Home and the Memorial Funeral Home. During that time, she also developed many dear friendships before retiring in 2019.

Marcine first met her husband, Harold, in 1956. They were married at the First Reformed Church in Orange City on April 17, 1959.They were blessed with 2 children, son Victor and daughter Kimberly. Marcine was a hard worker and caring for her family gave her great joy. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren always held a special place in her heart, and she saw them as special gifts from the Lord. She was a great cook and the family always looked forward to being treated with her special chicken pot pie. She lived a life dedicated to her family even during her final years while suffering from health issues. She was also appreciated as a family prayer warrior.

Harold and Marcine spent their entire married life as members of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, a church family they love. When their family was younger, they loved spending time with family, including school activities and taking summer vacations with the children at Lake Okoboji. During their later years, they enjoyed spending time in Minneapolis with Vic and Denise and their family. During the winter months they enjoyed spending time in Arizona with Kimberly and Brent and their family. She also enjoyed many years of fellowship and outings with the ‘Red Hatters’.

Marcine will be greatly missed by her family, husband, Harold; son, Victor and Denise Schiebout, Minneapolis, grandson, Matthew and his wife Sarah, great grandchildren, Wylie and Morgan, and granddaughter Allison. Daughter, Kimberly and Brent Kamerman, Prescott, AZ, granddaughter, Cassidy and Sean O’Brien, great grandchildren Lacy, Wyatt and Charlotte; and grandson, Christian and his wife Kaylee.

Her siblings: Larry Prins and Judy Prins. Harold’s siblings Michael Fisher, Dave and Ronda Schiebout; Bruce and Marilou Schiebout; Tom and Julie Schiebout and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Alice Prins; her parents in-law, Henry and Ethel Schiebout; her sister and her husband, Shirley and Lambert Funk; sister in-law, Judy Schiebout; and sister in-law Marla Schiebout.
