Wilma Kuiken, age 91, of Sioux Center, IA died on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Crown Pointe Estates Care Center in Sioux Center, IA.
Visitation with family present will be held Sunday, August 20, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2023, at New Life Church with Rev. Dan Kruse officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

Wilma (De Vos) Kuiken was born May 22, 1932, on a farm near Rock Valley, IA the daughter of William D. and Dena (Vander Weide) De Vos. Wilma grew up on a farm near Rock Valley and later Sioux Center. She attended country school and graduated from Sioux Center High School in 1949.
She was united in marriage to Harold Kuiken on July 27, 1951 at First Christian Reformed Church at Sioux Center. They made their home at Sioux Center, IA. Wilma was foremost a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She did various jobs in the area, Marv’s Lunch, Central Café, the Egg Plant, laundry at the hospital and worked in the Dordt Cafeteria.
She was a talented tailor and sewed many items over her lifetime. Many of her items were for her family and also were donated to a mission in Haiti. She was a member of New Life Church in Sioux Center. She was a resident of Crown Pointe Estates in Sioux Center where she died this past Wednesday afternoon, August 16, 2023, at the age of ninety-one.
She is survived by her children, Harvey Kuiken of Redmond, WA; Bonnie (Dick) De Groot of Sioux Falls, SD; Elaine Kuiken of Sioux Center, IA; Owen (Cindy) Kuiken of Bellevue, WA; Lorie (Joe) Skundberg of Kenosha, WI; Kristi Eldredge of Hartford, SD; Sheila (Merrill) Bohnenkamp of Sioux Center, IA and Irwin “Bud” (Karen) Kuiken of Hartford, SD; 23 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and one brother, Harold (Sharon) De Vos of Edna, IA.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dena; her husband, Harold; two brothers, Cornie and Clarence and two sisters, Dorothy and Nellie.
